The ARRL
VEC Exam Fee for 2011 is $15.00
(for one attempt at all three
license elements).
If a candidate fails an element at an exam session
and wants to re-test
for the same element,
an additional fee will be required.
The exam session will start at 9:00 AM
Examinees testing for their very first license are required to present two forms
of ID, Picture ID's are preferred.
Ideal
examples:
- Texas (or other current) drivers license
- Passport
- MilitaryID
- Official federal or state ID
Non-picture
id's accepted:
- Birth certificate
- Social security card
- Utility bill with address
All Identification will be verified by the testing VE's and then returned to the
test applicant.
Examinees for license upgrades
(those that already have a previous F.C.C Amateur license) still are required to provide 1 picture ID
, the current original FCC license, and any CSCE
(Certification of Successfully Completed Element) forms from
prior exam sessions. Examinees requesting grandfather credits
for Technician license must provide proof of prior license testing
(photocopy of previous FCC license or photocopy of previous license
listed in older fcc callbooks).
CSCE forms must be less than 365 days old. Forms must be
complete and contain all signatures to be accepted.
All Examinees must know their social security number or FCC T.I.N
number. This is required for the FCC License form.
No license can be processed without this information.
Examinees for upgrades are required to provide photo copies of their
current fcc license and CSCE forms. There are no facilities
to copy at the exam location.
Examinees are requested to bring their own pencils and pens (FCC forms
are in ink).
Examinees are requested to bring regular calculators or submit to VE
inspection that all programs are deleted from calculators.
Cell phones, handi-talkies, and pagers are allowed in the exam area but
must be turned off prior to the start of the exam.
